Terms of use
Bargie. Last updated 6 November 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and business or trading name (ABN ABN), who runs Bargie ("we", "us"). By using the app or website you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Bargie. How we handle your data is in our Privacy policy.
The short version
- Bargie compares grocery specials, shop prices, points offers and fuel prices to help you spend less.
- Prices come from public sources and can be late or wrong. Always check the price at the shop or servo before you buy.
- We are not part of, or endorsed by, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, IGA, Costco, any fuel brand, bank or loyalty program.
- Savings and points figures are estimates, not financial advice.
- Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Who can use Bargie
You need to be at least 16, and in Australia. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should be OK with you using it. You can look around as a guest, or add an email to keep your list. Keep your sign-in to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your account.
Prices, specials and fuel
- Specials and prices come from public catalogues and price data, fuel prices from state government schemes (Servo Saver in Victoria, FuelCheck in NSW, the ACT and Tasmania, FuelWatch in WA), and points offers from the programs' public pages. They are collected automatically and may be out of date, incomplete or matched to the wrong product.
- The shop's or servo's own price is the one that counts. We can't make a shop honour a price shown in Bargie.
- Product photos, names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to help you recognise the product or shop.
- Distances and trip costs are estimates from the postcode you enter, not GPS.
Not affiliated with shops or programs
Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, IGA, Costco, Everyday Rewards, Flybuys, Qantas, Velocity and every fuel brand and other name in the app are trade marks of their owners. Bargie is independent and isn't sponsored, endorsed or approved by any of them.
Savings, points and money tips
Savings, points values and "best card" suggestions are general information worked out from public prices and offers, and from the settings you give us. They don't take your full financial situation into account and are not financial, credit or tax advice. Check the offer terms with the program or provider before you rely on one. Some offers need a minimum spend or activation; we flag those where we know about them. We never earn commission for steering you to a shop, card or offer.
Filling your online trolley
If you use the trolley filler (the PC browser extension or the phone app's in-app browser), it adds items to your cart on the shop's own website while you're signed in there yourself. Your shop login stays on your device. You check and pay for the order on the shop's site, under the shop's own terms. Shops can change their websites at any time, so the filler may miss items or stop working. Check your cart before you pay.
Photo scans and AI
Photo scans and some matching use automated tools, including AI. They can misread items or prices. Check what was added before you rely on it. Free accounts have a monthly scan limit shown in the app.
Plus
Some features are marked Plus. They are free for everyone during the beta. When paid plans start, we'll show the price, what's included and how renewal works before you subscribe. Subscriptions in the phone app are billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account. Unless the law or the store's rules say otherwise, cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
Using Bargie fairly
Please don't:
- copy, scrape or resell Bargie's data, or use it to build a competing service;
- try to break, overload or get around the app's security or limits;
- use Bargie for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone through shared households or feedback;
- use automated tools on Bargie other than the trolley filler we provide.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
Your content
Your lists, receipts, photos and notes stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run Bargie for you and your household. Feedback and ideas you send us we may use to improve the app, without owing you anything for them.
Changes and availability
Bargie is in beta. Features may change, pause or be removed, and the app may sometimes be unavailable. If we make a change to these terms that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using Bargie after that means you accept the new terms.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights or any other right the law says can't be limited.
Our responsibility
Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows:
- Bargie is provided as it is, and we don't promise any price, special, offer or saving will be correct or available;
- we aren't responsible for what shops, servos, loyalty programs, banks, Apple, Google or other third parties do, including their prices, stock, websites and terms;
- we aren't liable for indirect loss, such as lost savings or wasted trips, caused by using Bargie;
- where our liability for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again (for a free service, nothing more than that).
Ending
You can stop using Bargie and delete your account at any time from the Home tab (how). We may end the service with reasonable notice in the app. If we end a paid plan early for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund the unused part.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and you and we can bring disputes to its courts. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to sort it out.
